Metagenics Broccoli Plus is a food supplement formulated with a concentrated broccoli seed extract designed to support antioxidant defence, cellular health, and normal detoxification processes. The formula provides a patented broccoli extract known as TrueBroc®, which is standardised to glucoraphanin, a naturally occurring compound found in broccoli that serves as a precursor to sulforaphane.
Glucoraphanin is converted in the body into sulforaphane, a sulphur-containing phytochemical that has been widely studied for its antioxidant activity and its role in supporting cellular protection against oxidative stress. Sulforaphane helps protect cells from free radicals generated during normal metabolic processes and from environmental exposures such as pollution and dietary toxins.
To support this conversion process, the formula includes mustard seed myrosinase powder. Myrosinase is an enzyme required to convert glucoraphanin into sulforaphane after ingestion, helping maximise the bioavailability and activity of the broccoli compounds in the body.
